Here are some articles detailing Logan’s achievements and involvement in their communities over the past several years.
"We want the safest and most reliable drivers on the road at every single stop, at every single place, and at every single school,” Director of Contracts & Business Development of Logan Bus Company Cory Muirhead said. "For those drivers not to be placed in the random drug and alcohol testing, it's counter-intuitive to the safety of these kids.”
For his dedication to safe student transportation, his charitable efforts, and his achievements in growing his business, SBF named Michael Tornabe its 2018 Contractor of the Year. SBF Vice President Emeritus Frank Di Giacomo presented the award at the National School Transportation Association’s annual meeting in Philadelphia
It was a testament to the all-hands-on-deck culture at Logan Bus—not to mention the countless number vendors and suppliers that have helped along the way—where seemingly all staff have literally grown up with the company, going to work with Mom and Dad, when no job was too small for them to get their little hands dirty.
Corey Muirhead has the resume of someone who has been in the transportation industry for 27 years, not who is 27 years old. Not only is he the chief negotiator and business development leader at the largest school bus company in New York, but he also serves as secretary and legislation committee chairman for the New York School Bus Contractors Association. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the 1181 Pension and Welfare Funds
The care Guardian Bus Company has for the students they transport extends far beyond the school bus door. They treat our children as if they were their own, guarding their precious lives with the utmost integrity. Guardian’s mission is to ensure that every child has the best, safest, and most worry-free bus ride to and from school… Guardian is a newly formed subsidiary of Logan Bus Company
Corey Muirhead, a spokesman for Logan, told the Herald that the company will retain more than 80 percent of Atlantic Express’s employees, and that it aims to keep the same drivers and dispatchers on each route. “That’s the promise we’ve made,” Muirhead said. “We’re having a great retention right now with getting the same people.”
“Pick-up, drop-off times, routes and assigned bus stops will remain the same,” the letter stated. It also sought to assure parents that Logan was qualified, equipped and trained for the job. “Logan Bus Company has been providing bus transportation to children since 1970,” the letter read. “They have been responsible for the busing of thousands of children throughout New York City … Logan Bus Company provides extensive training to their drivers and bus attendants. They place the highest priority on safety.”
